Move your GNFP to Shear at mainnet

Thank you for holding GNFP. Shear is the chain that continues from here. When Shear mainnet opens, every spendable GNFP on the book is matched one for one with SHE. You do not send coins to us, to a bridge, or to anyone else.

Shear is in testnet today. Mining and wallets are live so you can practise. The live pool is pool.shear.digital. The explorer is explorer.shear.digital. The site is shear.digital.

What happens at mainnet

When the Shear mainnet genesis block is sealed, we take a snapshot of spendable GNFP on the book. That list is the only list that counts. Coins still confirming, or sitting in the mempool, are not in it.

From that moment you have ninety-nine days to claim. In the GNFP wallet, open Backup and export your Join key. Treat it as a cheque: anyone who pastes it can collect.

In the Shear wallet, open Vortex and choose The Join. Paste the key. Shear pays your own destination (ssa1…). The credit first shows as pending on Continuum. It becomes spendable after six confirms. Each snapshot line can be claimed only once.

If you miss the window

SHE still unclaimed in The Join vault after ninety-nine days is burned. It is not paid to miners, not paid to The Reserve, and not held for later. If you do not claim in time, that allocation is gone.

What this is not

This is not a sale, not a new mine, and not a request for your seed. Leftover SHE in the vault is not your money — it stays in the vault until the window closes. The Join does not print SHE after genesis. Mining on pool.shear.digital is a separate activity. The Reserve is a separate staking programme.

The Shear wallet will never ask for your GNFP twelve words. The GNFP wallet will never ask for your Shear password. No telegram, no “support desk”, and no other domain is authorised to take your key or your seed.

We will publish the genesis time, the snapshot, and the exact close of the ninety-nine day window on shear.digital when mainnet opens. Until that notice, treat any “claim now” message as false.

How to move GNFP to Shear at mainnet

The Join is the only official path. You keep your GNFP until the published snapshot, export a Join key, and paste it in your own Shear wallet. One GNFP becomes one SHE.

Before mainnet

  1. Keep your GNFP twelve-word backup offline. The Join key comes from that same wallet. If the seed is lost, the claim cannot be exported.
  2. Install the current GNFP wallet (this page lists v0.2.6) from the official GNFP wallet releases. Open it and confirm your gnfp1 balance. Do not export a Join key yet.
  3. Install Shear wallet 0.11 from the official Shear testnet release so you can practise. Unlock it. Your spendable address is an ssa1 destination. Do not share rest-frame keys.
  4. Wait for the mainnet notice on shear.digital. It will name the genesis time, the snapshot, and when the ninety-nine day window closes. Until then, ignore anyone who says “claim now”.

After the snapshot is published

  1. In the GNFP wallet open Backup and export the Join key. Anyone who pastes it can collect — treat it like cash.
  2. Only spendable GNFP on the book at genesis is in the snapshot. Coins still confirming, or in the mempool, are not.
  3. In the Shear wallet open Vortex → The Join. Paste the key. Shear pays your own destination. Continuum shows it as pending first. It is spendable after six confirms. Your GNFP balance drops when the claim is accepted.
  4. Each snapshot line can be claimed only once. Pasting the same key again returns already claimed. Confirm the credit on Continuum, and on explorer.shear.digital against your ssa1 dest — not a rest-frame address. Leftover SHE in the vault is not yours.

Ninety-nine days

From genesis you have ninety-nine days. Unclaimed SHE in The Join vault is then burned. It is not paid to miners and not held for a later round.

For app creators

Vortex apps use a vort1 deploy key

If you write a Vortex app, you host it yourself. Shear mints a vort1. deploy key that names your URL and pins a hash of the bytes you serve. Holders paste that key in Vortex. There is no app store listing: no key, no app.

The Join and The Reserve are official programmes. They are not minted this way. Third-party apps cannot print SHE. Do not ask users for a Shear password, twelve words, or a Join key.

In the Shear wallet: Vortex → Add new vortice → paste the vort1. key. Keep the hosted bytes unchanged for as long as the key should work. A new body needs a new key.
